Buttercream Frosting

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 cups confectioners sugar
4-6 tablespoons evaporated milk
1/2-1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla

Cream together butter and shortening. Add one cup sugar and one tablespoon milk alternately until sugar is gone. (Add more milk if the mixture is too thick.) Add salt and vanilla and mix on medium speed for 5 minutes. Makes about 4 cups.

Chocolate Buttercream - Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons milk.

Lemon Ice Cream

2 2/3 cups whole milk
1/4 cup cream
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 1/3 cups sugar
2-4 drops lemon oil

Mix ingredients together and chill. Freeze in ice cream maker. Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
